Weight Management

Obesity and weight gain are classified as inflammatory processes. At Revitalize, we take a holistic approach to addressing weight management. Rather than calling it a weight loss, we like to see it as a lifestyle change. This may involve GLP-1 agonists (semaglutide and tirzepatide), along with anti-inflammatory agents such as BPC-157, but our main goal is to help change the lifestyle in order to improve  inflammation and metabolic function . We not only focus on healthy dietary habits and exercise, but also on optimizing nutrients,  maintaining a healthy microbiome (gut flora), decreasing stress, as well as self-awareness and gratitude to nourish the mind and soul.

What are GLP-1 agonists?

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists are peptides that are produced by the small intestine in response to a meal.  These peptides help regulate insulin and promote glucose uptake.  GLP-1 agonists have been used in Type-2 diabetics for some time, but recently, they have also been approved for the primary purpose of weight loss.  These peptides promote a feeling of satiety and slows down the motility of the intestinal tract.  In addition to weight loss, there are numerous additional health benefits such as protecting heart and kidney function, decreasing inflammation, promoting blood flow and glucose uptake by skeletal muscle, and decreasing fatty accumulation in the liver.

At Revitalize, we also use a high-tech 3D body scanner to assess body composition as an adjunct  to optimize weight management. Our providers review the results with each patient and discuss optimal daily caloric intake and set tangible goals to lower health risks associated with elevated body fat composition.
